Marblehead Custom Jewelry (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to providing high-quality jewelry repair services. By submitting jewelry for repair, you (“Customer”) agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Purpose
This Agreement outlines the terms under which Marblehead Custom Jewelry provides repair services and warranties for customer-owned jewelry.
2. Repair Services
Repairs may include, but are not limited to:
- Resizing
- Stone replacement
- Cleaning and polishing
- Clasp or chain repairs
- Other necessary work
3. Repair Process
- The Customer submits jewelry for inspection.
- We provide a repair estimate including labor, parts, and materials.
- The Customer must approve and authorize repairs in person, over the phone, or verbally before work begins.
4. Payment Terms
- Repair fees are due upon completion, unless otherwise agreed.
5. Warranty on Repairs
- Repairs come with a 6-month warranty on craftsmanship and materials.
- Warranty covers defects in workmanship but excludes:
- Damage from misuse, accidents, improper care, or normal wear and tear
- Loss or theft of jewelry
- Repairs performed by a third party (voids warranty)
- If a defect arises within the warranty period, we may, at our discretion:
- Repair the item at no charge
- Replace parts (subject to availability)
6. Turnaround Time
- Estimated completion dates depend on complexity of the repair and availability of materials.
- We will notify the Customer of any delays.
7. Liability
- We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions or unforeseen damage.
- Customers are encouraged to insure jewelry for its full value during repairs.
8. Risk of Loss
- Risk of loss, theft, or damage passes to the Customer unless caused by our negligence.
- Customers should insure items while in transit or at the store.
9. Confidentiality
- Both parties agree to maintain confidentiality regarding the jewelry’s design, materials, and value.
10. Termination
- Customers may cancel repairs before work begins.
- If work has started, the Customer is responsible for costs incurred.
- We may terminate the Agreement if payment is not made.
11. Governing Law
- This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
By entrusting jewelry to Marblehead Custom Jewelry, the Customer agrees to all terms outlined above.
